Vertigo Theatre’s mission is to thrill, entertain and inspire our audiences and artists with high quality experiences by developing and producing outstanding intrigue and mystery theatre. In this way, Vertigo Theatre productions often contain themes of heightened human emotion and intensity.

The following audience advisories are provided with the understanding that some spoilers may be revealed. These warnings are subject to change without notice and may evolve throughout the workshop and rehearsal process of each production .


The BROTHERS PARANORMAL

 

Recommended for ages 13+. This age recommendation is provided as a guide. Individual preferences and parental discretion should also be considered.

Language

Some explicit language is used.

Scenes of Violence

Scenes of haunting and violent “ghost” behaviour. Characters may be dragged violently around the room. A character is depicted as being smothered with a pillow.

Scenes of Intimacy/Sexual content

Actors portraying a married couple may kiss onstage.

 

Special Effects

This production may contain loud sounds, sudden blackouts, complete darkness, strobe lighting effects, flashes of light, objects appearing to levitate, and loud screams.



 

Content Warning

This production contains scenes of violence, references to death by suicide, scenes of “haunting” and “paranormal” activity.

Recommended for Grades 7 and up. This age recommendation is provided as a guide. Individual preferences and parental discretion should also be considered.

A neck snapping sound effect is heard throughout the play. Depiction of a corpse onstage (a woman in a nude body suit), references to hanging and being thrown from a horse, depictions of reanimation of a “dead” body (in a Frankenstein manner), characters threaten each other with sharp objects. Characters may fight.

 

Scenes of Intimacy And Sexual Content
