Vertigo Theatre’s mission is to thrill, entertain and inspire our audiences and artists with high quality experiences by developing and producing outstanding intrigue and mystery theatre. In this way, Vertigo Theatre productions often contain themes of heightened human emotion, including but not limited to; power, violence, murder, desire and love.

The following audience advisories are provided with the understanding that some spoilers may be revealed. These warnings are subject to change without notice and may evolve throughout the workshop and rehearsal process of each production .

Language

THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN contains some scenes with the use of explicit language.

 
 

SCENES OF VIOLENCE

This production contains scenes of domestic violence. A character swings at another character with a golf club. A character pulls another character by the hair in a threatening manner. There are scenes depicting anger and descriptions of violent acts.

 
 

SCenes of Intimacy

Characters kiss and engage in scenes of passion. Some clothing may be removed.

 
 

CONTENT WARNING

THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN deals with the following subject matter: alcoholism, mental health, infidelity, death (including infant), divorce, domestic abuse (emotional, physical), vomiting, gaslighting, infertility, memory loss, murder, and violence.

SCENES OF VIOLENCE

Depictions of a “dead body” onstage. Buckets of blood and depictions of gore are used. Gunshots are fired resulting in onstage depiction of being shot.
