Investigations UNit

New Play Development

The Investigations Unit will seek out and support writers from diverse backgrounds and experience levels, to explore exciting new ideas or to create bold adaptations of existing works. Writers and creators will be provided with the necessary resources to develop their work from concept to production.

Four new plays are currently in development, including new works from:

  • Lake of Girls by Karen Hines

  • The Extractionist by Michaela Jeffery

  • Kowloon Bay JOvanni Sy

  • Mysterious Tales by Kevin Corey, Christian Goutsis, Craig Hall, Allison Lynch, Julie Orton, Mike Tan.

 

Foreign Relations

Company Residencies & Arts Partners

Foreign Relations offers local artists and companies theatrical space and production support on select projects. These projects may range from short workshops to full productions.

FIELD TRAINING

Mentorship and Training

Specifically targeting early career arts professionals, Field Training will provide in-the-trenches experience, direct access to professional mentors and opportunities for career advancement. All artists will be paid for their time, and will engage with working professionals who believe in the holistic value of mentorship and training. Participants will be selected through a public call for submissions or engaged through partnerships with training institutions.

 

Special Operations

Research & Innovation

Prioritizes research and innovation as necessary for the ongoing artistic growth of Vertigo Theatre. This initiative carves out a place to experiment with form and expand Vertigo Theatre’s aesthetic in order to break new artistic ground in the mystery genre. Intake into this program is ongoing, internally curated and based on artistic interest and strategic needs.
