Vertigo Theatre offers various workshops in theatre and professional development throughout the year. Here is a list of our upcoming workshops:

Technical Lighting Workshop

Course Description

A free, 4 hour introductory workshop for emerging technicians who are looking to further their education in lighting. It will cover instrument identification, hanging, cabling and focusing, as well as introductory programming.

 Who Should Apply?

This workshop is designed for those looking to expand into a new field of work and will serve as an introduction to the basics of working a lighting call. Recent graduates of a college or university tech program, senior high-school students interested in pursuing lighting in theatre or live events, and established technicians looking to expand their skill set are all welcome.

Wednesday February 13th, 2019

4 pm to 8 pm in the Vertigo Studio.

Audio Workshop

Course Description

This free, 4-hour, introductory course is geared towards emerging theatre technicians looking to further their knowledge of audio, and towards established technicians looking to build a new skill set. Course will cover gain, volume and signal path; and will then explore microphones, speakers and frequencies. The second half of the class will include hands-on training in patching, creating and killing feedback, and building effects.
