JOB POSTING – AUDIENCE SERVICES MANAGER

Vertigo Theatre produces Canada’s only professional series of mystery-based plays (Vertigo Mystery Theatre) and Calgary’s only professional theatre series for young audiences within the regular theatre season (Y Stage), as well as provides a performance home for numerous arts and arts education organizations.  Vertigo Theatre has been consistently growing for the past five years and is now seeking an individual to work in a seasonal, part-time position as an Audience Services Manager, sharing this 1½ time position with a long-time experienced employee.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Audience Services Managers are responsible for ensuring the comfort and safety of audience members attending performances and events taking place at Vertigo Theatre Centre.  The Audience Services Managers work with a team of 150 volunteers and work closely with other key staff and venue renters.

The successful candidate shall possess excellent customer service, communication, inter-personal, volunteer coordination, problem solving, and supervisory skills. He/she must be able to work within a flexible schedule that encompasses evenings and weekends as well as the occasional weekday.

This is a very unique position and it is not expected that the successful candidate shall have worked in this specific field before.  However, a love of theatre as well as loving to work with volunteers and patrons of all ages and backgrounds is a must. 

Vertigo Theatre encourages a team-oriented environment.  The wage is $18/hour and a full benefit package is available.  Estimated hours are 16 – 20 per week.
